The CALADA architects agency was born in September 2023 from the meeting of two architects, Élodie Artières and Zoé Dalloni.
It’s in an office that it all begins! Colleagues, then friends, it was quite natural that the idea of a future association emerged. But first, several joint collaborations emerged. Notably in 2018, they participated together in a competition of ideas from the Union of Architects inviting us to question the housing industry. Their proposal will be nominated among the finalist projects and published.
Élodie Artières, graduated from the Versailles architecture school in 2016, began her professional life in Paris in several renowned agencies. She subsequently focused her practice on small-scale architecture and scenography. Her end-of-studies project was noticed and published in the Archicree magazine. Since October 2021, Élodie Artières has taught at the Condé school in Nice in the space design section. She also works as an architectural photographer. A lover of the mountains, she abandons her native Brittany for more relief (and sunshine).
Zoé Dalloni, graduated from the Paris Belleville architecture school in 2014 after a degree in Marseille, joined various national and international agencies. She manages several public facilities and collective housing projects and builds up solid experience on the construction site. In 2013, she won 2nd prize in the CAUE de la Sarthe idea competition “small living machines”. Originally from Nice, the Parisian grayness got the better of her, leading to a return to her native lands.
CALADA architects: silent architecture
Calada, literally “silent stone” in Provençal, takes its name from the calades – steep, cobbled streets – typical of the architecture of the Nice hinterland. For us, architecture is a matter of context. A local culture, a topography, a landscape, a building, a history... which can neither be denied nor crushed. We advocate a quiet, sober architecture, respectful of natural and local materials, which integrates without imposing itself.
Resolutely contemporary, our posture seeks to reinterpret archetypes rather than reproduce them.
CALADA architects: Architects in dialogue
We attach great importance to dialogue and exchange. It is a source of creation and allows us to maintain relationships of trust with project owners, contractors or associated teams from the design phases.
An architecture responds to a use, a function and a need. Understanding and transcribing customer requests and expectations is the foundation of our business.
