Earning her degree in 2016, Manon Fourneret has honed her skills alongside a generation of architects attentive to the art of living and the identity and perception of spaces, and who were able to pass this passion on to her which over time has strongly influenced her experiences and philosophy. Her career led her to work with architectural heritage firms in Paris and Switzerland as well as firms specialised in quantity surveying and construction management and coordination. The architect chose to base her practice in an alpine location in order to work on developing new local opportunities, as well as a closer connection with local savoir-faire and high-quality, raw materials. Today, Manon Fourneret’s work includes experimenting with new forms of housing, Savoyard mazots, the restoration of mountain farms and more, all with care to preserve the alpine region and heritage.
Throughout her career, she has learned to explore her creative intuition and analytic view. She sees potential rather than solutions, examines the process more than the result, leading to greater intellectual freedom. Analysis of the site, temporality, materials and what’s “already there” makes up the foundation of her work, aspects that must be considered as a heritage of which each architect is a guardian.
Alt.A studio draws on the past to create and design architecture, on the existing lines that reflect the usages rooted in the local, much as light and land are the guarantee of economical, comfortable architecture. Observing and enhancing our surroundings is key, because every detail counts.
Do you have an architecture project? Don’t hesitate to contact Manon Fourneret, who will be happy to contribute her creativity and savoir-faire to your new project.
